Maggie's Girls - Part 2
We went downtown for the second part of this session and even though it was FREEZING that day, we managed to get some keepers. I happen to love purple and gray (the colors of Amy Long Photography ;-), so when I saw the purple shirt I knew I had to use the gray wall. Beautiful, beautiful girls!
I also wanted to add one more from the previous session that I just love for some reason and it didn't make it into the first blog entry.

More Sisters!
Two sessions in two weeks with three sisters! I think this is warming me up for Thanksgiving, when I will see all of my sisters. These three were so adorable! The littlest one especially liked to have her picture made. She did all sorts of poses for me and twirled a little too.
I love to watch sisters and try to pick up on their differences. They're all different, but all equally as great. Thanks for a wonderful session girls!

Alli
Alli was such a sweetheart. I had a great time getting to know her, her mommy and her nana today. I love the leopard coat! With a little help from M&M's, we got lots of great shots.
Thanks guys! It was a great day!

Sisters
Well, you probably know by now that I have five sisters of my own, so I was excited to get the chance to photograph these three. They all have their own distinct personalities, but they have so much fun together! I had a great time watching them tickling each other, hugging (to the point of strangling :) and throwing leaves up in the air.
I had fun guys! More to come soon!
Boo-tique Photography!
Beautiful little Eszlee in her Bo-Peep outfit!
A note to all you Strobist fans: The pumpkin has a flash and pocket wizard in it to make it "glow", otherwise it would be a pretty dull pumpkin. I put the flash and trigger in a... well, a Wal-Mart sack actually (for lack of better protection) and lined the opening of the pumpkin with wax paper. Ta-da! :)

Welcome Home Troops
Wow! Where do I start? I met Lida through my sister-in-law, who mentioned several months ago that Lida's boyfriend was in Afghanistan and would be coming home in the fall. Lida wanted to find a photographer to come and capture the moment for her and her friends. I jumped at the chance.
I firmly believe you should always be on the lookout for ways to give back. Most of the time, the best ones fall in your lap. This was one of those times. I think everyone should go, at least once, and watch the troops come home after a long absence. They have made sacrifices I can't even imagine making.
The atmosphere was emotional and festive at the same time, smiles and tears. I was afraid I would be crying along with them (I've been known to get choked up over things that have nothing to do with me). Luckily I saved it until now. When I look at the images, it reminds me of how privileged I am to witness so many human emotions through my lens... one of the best parts of being a photographer.
Welcome home troops!

Emerson
Emerson is so much fun on a shoot. She is curious about everything around her. I love to just follow along and snap away. We decided to head downtown for this shoot and the results are great!
Thanks guys! I had a great time as always!

SatsyNana
I had a great time last weekend with Mrs. Patsy and her beautiful grandchildren. She is the grandmother of all grandmother's. She has a log cabin, swings, a bamboo forest and even a koi pond! I loved watching all of the grandkids play together and tried to get some shots of them in action. Here are a few previews. Enjoy!

The Princess & The Jedi
One of my old (and yes, we are just a little bit old now;) high school buddies got in touch with me about a Fall Mini Session. I was so excited to see her and her two adorable children. I had a great conversation with Logan about The Clone Wars and with Lexi about well, princesses of all sorts. They had a great time and even climbed a tree while we were at it. I just hope no poison ivy popped up afterward!!
Thanks guys! It was good to see you and to get to know your wonderful kiddos.

Erin + Roland Sittin' In A....
Well, an industrial back alley to be quite frank, but when you're love who cares about the surroundings? I had a great time with these two. I have know Erin for a while and she is as sweet as ever. She complained of having a "bad hair day". Erin's bad hair day looks ten times better than the rest of us on a good day ;). I enjoyed getting to know her fiance, too and hearing about all of his travels. Congratulations guys! The future looks very bright for you!
Cotton Pickin' Cousins
My son is very fortunate to have great cousins on both sides of the family, a great thing for an only child. We spent the day a couple of weeks ago with some of his cousins. They watched football, played outside, made Razorback cookies and finished up the day in the cotton field. All of the kiddos were very good sports about having their Christmas card picture made for Sasha & Grandaddy. I love the top picture. I think the U of A should use it for an ad about future students ;). Just sayin'.
